Structure and Composition of Mangrove Species in West Bangka Regency

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the structure of the mangrove community in Rukam Village. This study used a purposive sampling method, where the determination of the station by selecting an area that represents the location of the observation. The results of this study indicate that there are nine types of mangroves found at the research station, the most common being Rhizophora mucronata and Rhizophora apiculata. Station 1 ranges from 0.117 to Rhizophora apiculata. The largest species frequency values, namely 1, were found at stations I, III and V with mangrove species Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata and Xylocarpus granatum. The species cover value of 48.410% was found at station I with mangrove Rhizophora apiculata and INP of 169.010 at station I with mangrove Rhizophora apiculata. Rhizophora species are very dominant because Rhizophora has a high adaptation to environmental parameters such as substrate type, salinity fluctuation, tides, organic matter content, temperature and pH. Rhizophora apiculata species have high adaptability where this species grows.
